Two categories are shown on screen — three if a team plays Extra.
On your turn, name one item for each category shown.
The teacher judges. Correct adds 3 seconds. Wrong costs 5 seconds and a strike.
No repeats — anything already said this round doesn't count.
Each team has one clock for the whole round. It only runs on their turn and carries over.
You're out when your clock hits 0:00 or you reach the strike limit.
Last team standing wins the round and takes a ⭐. First to the star target wins the game.
Once per round each team may use Switch (reroll the board), Skip (pass the turn) or Extra (every opponent must answer a third category until the turn comes back around).
Settings
Time Bank
One clock per team for the entire round, not per turn. It only runs on their turn and carries over.
Language Level
Caps categories by the CEFR level a learner needs to name an item in English. The count beside Game Settings updates live.
Category Type
English vocabulary only keeps every category to words students actually produce. Vocabulary + pop culture adds brands, apps, films and famous names — fun as a reward round, but winnable without speaking English.
Rotation
Swap one each turn replaces half the board each turn, so no-repeats pressure builds while the board stays fresh. Fresh set each turn gives everyone a clean slate — easiest. Fixed for the round keeps the same categories until someone is knocked out — hardest.
Teacher controls
Undo
Rewinds the last judgement, ability, timeout or adjustment — scores, clocks, strikes and the board all restore. Leaves the clock paused so you can re-judge.
Referee
Reveals ±30s, ±strike and ±star controls on every team card. Never triggers a round win or a game end on its own.
End
Finishes the game on the current star leader. Click twice to confirm.
